I think for most people, the point of blogging is to get their thoughts out there, for one reason or another (or for many reasons), to share and open conversations, doors, and so much more.

More of that will happen the more people read the blog, so please, if you feel so inclined, when reading a post that you find interesting, either bad or good, please press like (and comment you really meant dislike, if that applies), and then share it with someone, everyone even.

Thanks, very much appreciated.

Recalls, what about the generic brands? November 29, 2010

Another med recall:

Why does this keep happening?  Is it because these big drug companies are constantly do quality checks and are just finding what is a normal amount of human error?  Or are they truly that negligent?  I think the first question is at least partially the reason, or we would have seen a lot more of this type of thing when we were all kids.  They didn’t do the checks back then, now they do them more frequently, so obviously, more recalls.

So, my next question: what about all the generic brands?  Are they not doing recalls because they are so much better at controlling human error in the beginning?  Or is it because they are less funded companies and don’t have (or won’t spend) the money to do as many quality checks?  Meaning that there are just as many human errors but we’re just not hearing about them and recalls are not being issued.

So, what do the consumers buy?  I’ve heard many people say they are buying generic because you don’t hear about generic recalls.  But again, why?

Job hunting is a full time job!! November 29, 2010

I have literally spent the last 3+ hours submitting my self to job sites!!  This is completely different that the easy-peasy craigslist type of job listing, where you simply email your resume to the job poster.  It takes just minutes to tweak your already composed resume to fit the job description, attach to an email and off it goes.  I can do 3 in 10 minutes usually.

Today however, I was looking for posting on government job sites.  This process entails creating an identity with each government site (federal, army, navy, department of defense, etc.), then creating a search to look for jobs, then with each job, you’re redirected to a specific site to apply for the job.  On those sites, you again create an identity and then manually fill out forms with all your information, education, work experience, etc.  No downloading of resumes, just filling in or cutting and pasting.  It literally look me 3+ hours to apply for 3 jobs!  Granted, there were minor disruptions during the process (a girls gotta pee, kids gotta have a snack), but the bulk of the time was filling out information.

I’m so frustrated!  Plus, I feel like I’ve accomplished nothing today because all the other items on my “manageable” to-do list for the day are no not done.

Anyhow, another day…another day.
